Spiral Freezers, custom-made to order.
The factory completely assembles and tests before shipping.
The spiral conveyor is constructed with NON-CORROSIVE aluminum. Refrigeration coils are constructed with aluminum or hot-dipped galvanized steel to maximize heat transfer efficiency and length of operation. Intervals the frigid air delivery with aluminum high-efficiency airfoil tan wheels directly driven by high-efficiency motors. Airflow baffling, constructed of heavy gauge aluminum for maximum air channeling and optimum heat removal from the product. The freezer enclosure is built with 5-inch thick foamed-in-place urethane laminated with stainless steel. All the stainless-steel joints are seal welded. The spiral drives are driven by a variable frequency drive for a smooth and safe control speed to protect the system from over-tension and malfunction. The freezer is built to USDA, FDA, OSHA, and CSA standards.
Spiral Belting
Advanced’s freezers are equipped with heavy-duty stainless-steel spiral telescopic belting. The belt can be telescoped and extended to change the pitch of the links. During operations, the extended belt approaches the rotating drum with one side telescoped in, causing it to spiral up the rotating drum. The spiral belt is made of all stainless steel 304 materials.
Evaporator Coil
The evaporator coil comprises all-aluminum fins and tubing for Freon or ammonia re-circulation, flood, or direct expansion service. The fin spacing, which varies with the depth of the coil, is wide at the air inlet side and narrow at the discharge side. This ensures even frost builds up on the coil without restricting airflow, and thus maintains the maximum performance of the freezer operation time. The coil is furnished with liquid, suction, hot gas, and water connections for easy hookup.
Belt Supports and Spiral Frame
The belt is supported by all STAINLESS-STEEL rails, protected by U.H.M.W. polyethylene wear strips. The spiral frames are also constructed using STAINLESS STEEL.
Airflow System
All-aluminum high-performance airfoil propeller fans are provided with air directly driven by high-efficiency motors. The single-pass turbulent airflow passes through each tier horizontally and returns to the coil in a horizontal circular loop pattern. This is the most efficient airflow pattern to obtain maximum heat transfer of the product.
Spiral Freezer Drum
The drum is constructed with all aluminum structure materials, protected with U.H.M.W. polyethylene wear strips for many years of smooth maintenance-free operation.
Electrical Control Panel
The electrical control panel is made of stainless steel and mounted on the enclosure's outside wall. It is equipped with switches and motor starters and fused to protect each motor. The electronic retention time meter and the digital temperature readout will be provided as options, while the mechanical temperature gauge is provided as a standard.
Belt Take Up
The spiral belt system is equipped with automatic belt tension to ensure smooth belt operation in various temperature ranges and wear.
Enclosure Construction
The freezer enclosure is made of a heavy-gauge stainless-steel sheet, complete with internal steel structural supports for strength. The enclosure insulation is 5” thick density foam urethane for maximum efficiency. The wall and floor panels are SEAL-WELDED together on the inside. Large stainless-steel access doors at all necessary locations allow for easy cleaning and maintenance.
Drive System
The freezer drive system is located at the top side of the spiral conveyor and is electrically driven by a variable-frequency drive gear motor. The proper belt takes up tension and is driven by a second-gear motor directly linked to the drum motor, designed to operate at an overdrive speed ratio. When the drive motor is varied, both belt and drum speeds change proportionately to compensate for the overdrive speed ratio.
Safety Features
For protection against oversized products, a limit switch is provided at the in-feed end of the freezer. For protection against over-tension of the belt, a safety belt tilt switch is located at the top tier of the freezer to protect each tie.

Freezer Internal Washing Manifold and Belt Washer
The Manifold Freezer shall be equipped with an internal center drum wash manifold c/w with spray nozzles for washing the freezer interior and belt.
